Callie’s clothes are also a very useful tool too show Callie’s personality, wearing baggy clothes is a way for Callie to hide due to her insecurities and lack of confidence as an adolescent.

I chose a nonsaturated colour palette for Callie’s clothes to make her piercing blue eyes stand out, I chose to use earthy nature colours symbolising the characters connection to nature and water. These blue and green colours repeat when Callie is under water, Callie skin becomes a green colour similar to her jumper as she is surrounded by the blue lake water, I made these design choices to link both sides of Callie.

When Callie enters the lake water pass the threshold into the unknown world her true self that has always been inside her emerges, the repeating colours symbolises this, there is no sudden change in colour as Callie has not changed completely.
